Connor Brewer Transferring To Northern Arizona
Quarterback Connor Brewer has decided to transfer to Northern Arizona, according to a post he made on Instagram.
“After these wild few years of college, I have officially decided that my last stop will be at Northern Arizona University. I will pursue my graduate degree and have two more years of football to play. I am excited to get on the field again and to finally show people what I am capable of,” said Brewer in his Instagram post.
Brewer will be a graduate transfer, thus he will not have to sit out a season.
Brewer began his career at Texas in 2012 where he redshirted that season. He left Texas in July 2013 and landed at Arizona a few weeks later. He sat out the 2013 season at Arizona due to NCAA requirements, but was the scout team quarterback. He was given a release from his scholarship in January of this year.
Brewer played in 2 games during the 2014 season at Arizona, but did not attempt a pass. He recorded 1 rush for 3 yards and a touchdown, which came against UNLV in the season opener.
Brewer was stuck behind starter Anu Solomon and backup Jesse Scroggins on the depth chart.
In an interesting twist, Northern Arizona will travel to Tucson to face Arizona on September 19, 2015.
