Kendrick Edwards Leaving Arkansas
Wide receive Kendrick Edwards is no longer with the Arkansas Razorbacks according to head coach Bret Bielema. There was not a specific reason provided for his decision to leave the team.
Edwards saw time on the field in 2014 as a true freshman, but he played sparingly. He caught 4 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown while playing in 11 games. His 70 yards were ninth on the team and his catches ranked eleventh on the team.
Edwards is free to look at other schools to transfer to. At 6 feet, 6 inches he is a big target and could play a big part in the offense at whichever school he winds up at. He was expected to see more action in 2015 had he stayed at Arkansas.
Arkansas still returns three of their top 4 receivers from 2014. Top receiver Keon Hatcher had 43 catches for 558 yards and 6 touchdowns. Tight end Hunter Henry was the second leading receiver with 37 catches for 513 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jared Cornelius was fourth on the team in receiving last year as a freshman with 212 yards and 2 touchdowns on 18 catches.
The Razorbacks spring practice ends on Saturday, April 25 with the Red-White game.
